Imposibilidad para empezar con C

Dado que mi ordenador está arreglándose ya unas dos semanas y nunca pillo al "arreglador" en la tienda, me es imposible empezar a hacer prácticas en C. Por ahora estoy en el ordenador de mi hermano, un ordenador vetusto, que difícilmente puede con Apache y PHP, haciéndo alguna práctica que otra, ejercicios del libro del anterior post, y otros que me han recomendado.

Dado que cuando dejé de programar PHP hace unos meses lo que más hacía era interactuar con bases de datos (sistemas de noticias y programita sencillos parecidos), ahora que hago prácticas más o menos complejas (almenos para mí lo son) me cuesta mucho "tirar palante". Ahora mismo estoy bloqueado en una función que de la vuelta a una cadena: si escribes "El gato." ha de devolver ".otag lE". Se usan bucles, la función substr y creo que poco más, pero nada, que no me sale ni a la de tres... Si pudiera alguien dejar alguna pista lo agradecería :)

Además del handicap de no tener ordenador propio, hay otro que se deriva de este. Al ser este ordenador de mi queridísimo hermano, el horario no puede ser el mismo que tenía, porsupuesto. Tengo que estar mucho menos tiempo. Lo bueno es que así puedo ir leyendo cosas del libro, pero bueno preferiría practicar, la verdad.

En breve añadire una pequeña lista de manuales tanto de PHP, como de C/C++ y tal vez de algún otro lenguaje que en el futuro quisiera aprender.

    la función que comentas es strrev(); simple y llana, ahora si tienes que construir una.

    strlen(); mide los caracteres de una cadena
    strpos(); saca la posición de un caracter en una cadena
    substr(); selecciona partes de una cadena

    Bueno hombre, ya se que llego extremadamente tarde, pero tienes que hacer un for desde el final (lo q te diga strlen hasta el inicio imprimiendo substr(strlen()) substr(strlen()-1) asi hasta substr(0). Por supuesto en vez de strlen es la variable del if

    desde i = strlen(); hasta i = 0; i--
    imprime(substr(i));
